Apple’s Mac mini portable computer has had a revamp, making it not only the smallest, but the most powerful incarnation of the device, with more connectivity than ever before!

The 2010 edition now features a HDMI port for hooking up to a hi-def display as well as a SD card reader for easy transfer of multimedia content to compliment the existing USB, firewire and eathernet ports and all important optical drive. It also boasts a faster Intel Core 2 Duo processor at 2.66GHz and an improved nVidia 320m graphics card and a 320GB hard-drive but has taken a step down from 4GB to 2GB of RAM. With all that extra bulk you’d expect a little swell around the waistline but Apple has managed to slim down a little with a body measuring just 19.4cm square by 3.6cm tall. There has, as with all smaller gizmos, been a hike in price and the new mini will cost a cool £649, but for this powerful and portable Mac, boasting the Snow Leopard OS, it doesn’t really seem that bad!

So once again Apple have taken one of their existing products and made us want it that little bit more but tweeking it in ways we hadn’t thought of. If a bit of a hike in cost is the price to pay for such excellent technology then I, personally, am happy to pay. Any one who isn’t…well I guess you an always wait for the price to come down.

So first there was the iPod (not too mention it’s ‘children’) and the world went Apple crazy, iTunes was launched and music was changed forever. Then came the iPhone and the phrase that will be uttered for years to come “there’s an app for that”. With the iPhone Apple revolutionised touch screen technology and turned the iPhone into a Swiss army phone with the addition of the App Store to iTunes.

This Summer the world has been taken by storm thanks to Apple’s latest release, The iPad. The iPad is the compilation of the knowledge gained from both the iPod Touch and the iPhone pooled into one amazing piece of kit. The iPad is basically a giant iPod Touch with 3G Internet and wireless capabilities, whilst incorporating some of Apples most powerful micro-processing technology allowing the iPad to operate multiple apps with unparalleled ease. Now I know I sound like an Apple sales man here but trust me when I say this is, without a doubt, one of the greatest gadgets Apple have ever produced.

The the release of the iPad, Apple seem to have placed themselves at the top of the media market with the Apple share price raising solidly for the past 3 years. With even some of the latest computer games being made to be played on a Mac, it would seem that Apple are looking to enter into the Gaming section of the media market. Such a move would see stiff competition from existing market leaders Microsoft and Sony but, if successful, would surly cement them as the true media and personal technology leaders in the world.

Here at World of Gadgets we are already looking forward to Christmas. Yes, as sad as it seems we have to plan for what has to be our busiest period of the year and despite the recession, we are certain that this Christmas will be at least as busy as previous years. With this in mind, not only have we kept an eye on prices, but now with our product range having been extended to nearly 460 products, you are sure to find something for that ever-growing present list.

Year on year the average buyer spends more on Internet shopping and less in the high street shops. There are a number of reasons for this. Fighting the crowds searching for Christmas gifts on the High Street can be a stressful experience. Finding a parking space is an art in itself and then the parking charges! The less that is said, the better. A revamp of the World of Gadgets site has resulted in the splitting of certain categories, so that finding what you want takes less clicks now and with a wider choice, shopping for all of the family has been made so much easier.

World of Gadgets realise that although we can’t cater for all of your Christmas Present list, we can take the stress out of some of it. With the weather getting colder, just sit in warm, click away and be happy in the knowledge that at least some of your gifts will be delivered straight to your door. It’s a ‘No-brainer’ really!

Here at World of Gadgets we have been very busy over the last couple of months adding an incredible amount of new products to what was already a decent range. At this time with nearly 430 products available, we really have pushed the boat out to ensure that there are gadgets, gizmos, fun and novelty items and toys for old and young. And if yo have been keeping an eye on what we have been up to you will have noticed that the range outgrew the previous list of ten categories and now we have fifteen!

We realised that with the massively expanding range that it would have been difficult to find what you wanted very easily under the ten category system, so by adding another five categories browsing the World of Gadgets site has become a more pleasurable experience. We know that Valentines, Mothers and Fathers days have all gone by, but in our Special Occasions section we still have Christmas to buy for this year and what if you are looking for something that is eco-friendly, well now we have added a category specifically for just that.

Whatever your preference, there is such an array of new stuff on the World of Gadgets site that you are sure to find something for you, your partner, friend or relative and you can be sure that it is not something that you can very easily find off the shelf in the high street.
